rosacea treatment

Rosacea and its painful and unattractive symptoms can flare up at any time, and sufferers know that anything from what they had for lunch to the weather can cause their condition to worsen.

At New England Cosmetic Surgery & Laser Center in Weymouth, Mass., we offer VBeam laser treatment to lessen the effects of rosacea and give patients relief and peace of mind about their appearance.

To learn more about our rosacea treatments, or to schedule an appointment, contact New England Cosmetic today.

We can help treat the four main types of rosacea. At New England Cosmetic, our team will review your medical and treatment history to develop a rosacea treatment regimen for you moving forward.

The VBeam, a pulsed dye laser, delivers energy in pulses and has successfully treated rosacea sufferers for years.

What Is Rosacea?

Here are some symptoms for the various types of rosacea:

  • Facial redness and flushing, along with visible blood vessels. This type of rosacea is known as ETR and sufferers typically have sensitive skin.
  • Acne flare-ups: Rosacea can be similar to acne in some cases, with skin becoming very red. Flare-ups are periodic and skin can be very oily. Skin also may be sensitive and you may feel burning and stinging. Middle-aged women often suffer from this type of rosacea.
  • Skin that is thickening: This rare type of rosacea often strikes after you have already had other types of rosacea. Skin become thicker, most often on the nose. Skin may also get thicker on your chin, forehead, cheeks and even your ears. Broken blood vessels are apparent as pores enlarge and skin gets oily.
  • Eyes: For some with rosacea, their eyes may get bloodshot or watery. Eyes may feel gritty. Other symptoms may be a stinging or burning in your eyes. The eyes can also itch, feel dry and become sensitive to light. Many people experience a worsening of their vision.

There is no cure for rosacea, but steps can be taken to improve symptoms and improve your appearance and quality of life.

That’s how New England Cosmetic Surgery & Laser Center can help – with laser treatments to help ease your rosacea symptoms.

Rosacea is not to be taken lightly. Patients with rosacea can have problems at work, the condition can impact their relationships with others, and it can hinder their ability to socialize comfortably.

Surveys indicate 41 percent of rosacea sufferers try not to go out in public. Many cancel important family and social events due to rosacea.

Surveys also reported that 70 percent of rosacea sufferers said the condition hurt their self-confidence. Depression and anxiety can also occur in rosacea sufferers.

At New England Cosmetic Surgery & Laser Center, we’ll work with you to design rosacea treatments that meet your specific needs.

Again, rosacea can’t be cured. But at New England Cosmetic, we’ll provide you rosacea treatments to keep your condition under control and improve it.

After laser treatment, we also can educate you about the many rosacea triggers and steps you can take to avoid them. Developing a post-treatment skin-care regimen is also essential.

Don’t let rosacea continue to negatively impact your life. Contact New England Cosmetic Surgery & Laser Center for a consultation and learn how we can help keep rosacea from your life.
