Dr. John B. Lazor: Your Go-To Plastic Surgeon in Massachusetts

Plastic Surgeon in Massachusetts

Dr. John B. Lazor is both a board-certified plastic surgeon and an instructor at the Harvard Medical School. He has his own clinic, the New England Cosmetic Surgery & Laser Center, in Weymouth, Massachusetts. He has over 20 years of experience and his specialties include reconstructive surgery and facial plastic surgery. Some of the procedures he frequently performs include facelifts, neck lifts, brow lifts, rhinoplasties, chin implants and eyelid surgery. He has four advanced lasers at his clinic that can be used to treat skin conditions such as rosacea, scars, spider veins and acne.

Our plastic surgeon earned his medical degree from the Loyola University in Chicago. He served an internship in General Surgery at UCLA’s Harbor Medical Center and served a residency in Otolaryngology at Harvard Medical School. He later completed a fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He is a member in good standing of the following professional societies: the American Academy of Otolaryngology, the American Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery & Reconstructive Surgery, the Massachusetts Society of Otolaryngology, the American College of Surgeons and the Massachusetts Medical Society.

What Is the QuadraLASE?

The QuadraLASE is a fractional CO2 laser. As such, it emits beams in the form of discrete columns that reduce the amount of skin exposed to the lasers. That makes the treatment more comfortable for the patient and decreases the risk of burns. The machine can also regulate the depth of the laser and thus increases the number of conditions the QuadraLASE can treat. The QuadraLASE can be used to treat the following:

• Scars

• Wrinkles and fine lines

• Benign lesions

• Sun damage

• Uneven texture and coloring

What kinds of dermal fillers are offered?

Our Massachusetts plastic provides the following dermal fillers:

• Belotero®

• Juvederm®

• Radiesse®

• Restylane®/Perlane®

Belotero® is made from hyaluronic acid, a substance that occurs naturally in the skin. It is used to fill in fine lines and wrinkles on the face, especially those around the eyes or mouth. It can also fill in circles under the eyes.

Juvederm® is also made from hyaluronic acid and is actually a family of dermal fillers used to treat different parts of the face. Juvederm® Voluma increases the volume of the cheeks.

Radiesse® is composed of microspheres made from calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) suspended in a hyaluronic acid gel. It can be used in procedures called “liquid facelifts” that are done to erase wrinkles and fine lines and add volume to different parts of the face.

Restylane® is another filler made from hyaluronic acid that can be used to treat wrinkles and folds. It can also be used to make lips plumper.

On Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty, more commonly referred to as a nose job, can provide both functional and cosmetic benefits. Functional rhinoplasty involves correcting a structural problem within the nose that is making it hard for the patient to breathe. Straightening a deviated septum would be an example.

Cosmetic rhinoplasty is done to improve the patient’s appearance and can involve any of the following:

• Changing the size of the nose to make it more proportionate with the rest of the patient’s face

• Removing bumps or depressions

• Changing the size and position of the nostrils

• Correcting a tip that is upturned, drooping or hooked
