Is Juvederm the Right Filler of Choice in Massachusetts?

Massachusetts

Many of our patients in Massachusetts experience common skin problems like a loss of facial volume, wrinkles, and dry skin. Despite what many people think, these types of skin problems can be safely and effectively addressed using non-surgical treatment methods. Dermal fillers like Juvederm® could work for you.

What are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers are injectable substances that restore facial volume and smooth away fine lines and wrinkles. Some commonly used substances in dermal fillers are collagen and hyaluronic acid. Dermal fillers offer the advantage of significant wrinkle reduction without surgery that can be risky and require significant downtime.

What is Juvederm®?

Juvederm® is a type of dermal filler containing hyaluronic acid. It works by replacing the hyaluronic acid that has been lost by your body due to the aging process, genetics, or the environment. Juvederm® has been found to be safe and effective the correction of moderate to severe wrinkles and folds.

A Note About Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally-occurring substance produced by your own body in large amounts when you were young. As you grow older, your body produces progressively less hyaluronic acid. This is an important development because hyaluronic acid possesses the special ability to both attract and bind moisture within your skin. Think of hyaluronic acid as a sponge within your skin cells. As you lose this acid, your skin begins drying out and wrinkling.

How Does Juvederm® Work?

Juvederm® functions by effectively replacing the hyaluronic acid that your skin has lost due to the aging process, genetics, or the damaging effects of the environment. The hyaluronic acid contained in the product is manufactured using a special cross-linked manufacturing process that makes it more active within your skin.

Juvederm® is approved by the FDA for the correction of moderate to severe wrinkles and folds. The results can last for quite a while. Juvederm® also contains lidocaine to ensure your comfort during the treatment process in Massachusetts.

One advantage of treatment with Juvederm® is that your results will be immediate. You should also see continued improvement over the following weeks.
