Restore a Youthful Appearance with a Brow Lift

brow lift

What is a brow lift?

A brow lift, which is also referred to as a forehead lift, is a procedure that helps reduce the appearance of frown lines. Frown lines are wrinkles that develop on the forehead. They can cause a person to look too serious or angry. A brow lift can also help raise sagging brows. Many people who get a brow lift get this procedure done along with other cosmetic treatments, such as Botox or dermal fillers.

New England Cosmetic Surgery and Laser Center can help you restore a youthful appearance with a brow lift. Dr. Lazor and his staff of trained medical professionals can help you decide if a brow lift is right for you. To schedule your consultation, contact New England Cosmetic Surgery and Laser Center today.

Is a brow lift right for me?

If you are interested in getting a brow lift, then you will need to meet you with a surgeon. Your plastic surgeon will determine whether this procedure is right for you by taking your health history and goals into consideration. Most patients who are healthy and do not smoke are considered good candidates for a brow lift.

How does the procedure work?

The brow lift works by tightening the muscles in the forehead. This helps smooth out the wrinkles. It may also involve the removal of excess skin. There are two types of brow lifts that can be performed, traditional and endoscopic. The traditional brow lift is more invasive than the endoscopic procedure. However, it can also produce more drastic results.

Much smaller incisions are made during an endoscopic brow lift. It involves the use of a miniature camera, which allows the physician to make adjustments to the tissue and muscles. Your plastic surgeon will determine which option is the best for you.

How do you prepare for a brow lift?

You may be required to undergo lab testing before getting a brow lift. You may also be asked to discontinue or adjust the dosage of your medications. Many medications can increase the risk of bleeding during and after surgery. Because smoking can slow down the healing process, it is a good idea to stop smoking prior to your procedure. Furthermore, you will need to arrange for someone to pick you up after your surgery.

How long do results last?

The final results of this procedure will typically be seen within six months. The results of this procedure can last for six to 10 years. However, when the wrinkles and fine lines do return, they will not be as severe as they were before. Keep in mind that living a healthy lifestyle can help the results of this procedure last for a longer period of time.
